The Tap Room

Overview

Changing a Keg

To change a keg, click on the Change Keg button.

First select the SKU which you will be placing on the tap. Then select the serial number of the keg you attaching to the keg. Click the Change button.

If you wish to leave the tap in the empty state, not attached to a keg, they click the Empty button.

Beer in Tapped Kegs

Each retail sale sold will deduct inventory from the tap. If a product SKU on the retail sale is classified as Poured, then as the Sale is created, Brew Ninja will find a tap with a Recipe matching that of the SKU and reduce the amount of beer in that keg by the appropriate volume.

Special Taps

When you change a keg, you can assign a keyword to the tap. When a retail sale is finalized and taps are being deducted for the sale, this tap will only be used for products with a name that matches this keyword.

For example, consider a scenario where you sell two Bavarian Dark Howlers - one is a christmas special and the other is a regular poured drink - and you want the special to be drawn from one tap and the regular to be deducted from another. Their product sku names could be 'Bavarian Dark - 1L Howler' and 'Bavarian Dark - 1L Howler (Christmas Special)'. Your tap room would have two taps with a Bavarian Dark keg. One of these taps has the keyword 'christmas' and the other has no keyword. With this setup, all Bavarian Dark poured skus with the word 'christmas' in their name (ignoring capitalization) would be deducted from the first tap and all others are deducted from the second.
