Categories

Categories are built-in to the system and consequently cannot be renamed or deleted. They are used to differentiate between types, such as the Regions of Regina and Saskatoon.

Built-in System Categories

Category Type
Definition
Materials
Contains all the types of materials. An example is Malt or Packaging materials. This type is required on all materials. Click here for more information on Materials.
Product Skus
Contains all the types of products. An example is Beer or Promotional products. This type is required on all products. Click here for more information on Product Skus.
Business Partners
Contains all the types of Business Partners. An example is Wholesale and Retail business partners. This type is required on all business partners. Click here for more information on Business Partners.
Regions
Contains all types of regions where product inventory may be stored, such as city names. A default region is always set for newly added inventory, so all inventory is assigned a region. Click Setup → Categories for editing Regions.
Payment Terms
Contains all types of payment terms. This is assigned to business partners on configuring Quickbooks. An example is payment due on receipt or at a future date. Click here for more information on Quickbooks.
