What are combos?

A combo is a product that is made up of any number of products and materials. Unlike composite product SKUs, combos are not tracked in your inventory. When you finalize a sale where you sold a combo, inventory will be deducted for the combo's component product SKUs and packaging materials. The price of the combo at that time is recorded both in the sales order and as the new cost of the combo itself.

What can I do with a combo?

Here are some ideas:

  • Taster flight: Multiple dispensed product SKUs with a disposable tray for packaging. The packaging will be deducted from your inventory, and the liquid in the dispensed products will be deducted from your tap room. If any of the dispensed SKUs had a label or straw for materials, that will be deducted as well.
  • Sandwich: Finalizing a sale with a combo made up of bread, beef, and cheese materials (with no component products) will deduct the bread, beef, and cheese from your materials inventory. No need to make your sandwich ingredients direct sale products! Combos do not need to contain products to be useful.
  • Burger, Fries, and a Beer: This is where the power of a combo comes in.
    1. Set up a 'burger' combo as a product made up of bread, beef, cheese, and whatever other ingredients you have.
    2. Set up a 'fries' product to represent a box of fries - you could make this a combo as well, made up of potato strips and a cardboard box.
    3. Create your poured beer product - this could contain a 'straws' material if you wished.
    4. Finally, create your combo product, made up of the burger product, fries product, and poured beer products. Combos can contain other combos!
    5. Sell your combo product in a retail sale. When you finalize the sale, inventory will be deducted for the burger's component materials, the fries' component materials, and the poured beer's straw. The liquid contents of your poured beer will also be deducted from your tap room.
