Creating a Retail Sale
Retail sales can also be created using the Square Point-of-Sale system. Visit this article for more information on how sales records are automatically created when a retail sale occurs.
Creating a Retail Sale manually
- Click Transactions → Retail Sales.
- Click Add.
- Enter the date of the sale.
- Optionally, enter the customer's name, account, and phone number. These fields are all optional on retail sales, but it is a good idea to fill some of them in.
- Select the warehouse where this sale is being processed.
- Enter any additional notes you have on this sale.
- Select whether to flag this sale for attention. This flag is automatically set for retail sales created by the Square point-of-sale system where the sale total does not match the total in Brew Ninja.
- Enter the items for this sale.
- Click Add.
- Enter the product sku.
- Enter the price and discount rate of this entry.
- If this entry is a keg or rental, the quantity will be fixed at one. Otherwise, enter the quantity of this item for this entry.
- Select the tax method and environmental deposit amount for each item in this entry.
- If this entry is a keg or rental, select the serial number for this entry. If the serial number you wish to select does not appear, ensure you have selected the correct product sku.
- Enter any additional notes for this entry.
- Add additional entries as required.
- Click Save All.
If any of the product Skus you've added to a retail sale require a container (such as Keg of beer), and that container lists a Rental Deposit (Retail) amount, it will be included in the Retail sale total, visible when viewing the Retail sale.
Editing a Retail Sale
- Click Transactions → Retail Sales.
- Select the retail sale you wish to edit.
